アイスランド、2026年秋季カペリン調査を開始
Iceland Starts 2026 Autumn Capelin Survey

アイスランド海洋・淡水研究所（MFRI）とグリーンランド天然資源研究所（GINR）は、8月23日から2026年秋季カペリン調査を開始した。調査は9月24日まで行われる予定。

GINRの調査船「Tarajoq」に加え、9月8日からはMFRIの「Árni Friðriksson」も参加する。両船の予定航行距離は合計6,084海里。

調査の目的は、アイスランド－東グリーンランド－ヤンマイエン海域における未成魚および成熟カペリンの資源量を推定すること。あわせて、プランクトン、浮魚類、海洋環境などの生態系調査も実施する。

調査結果は10月中旬ごろに公表される見込みで、その後、2026/27年漁期のカペリン漁獲勧告が改定される予定。

The Marine and Freshwater Research Institute of Iceland (MFRI) and the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources (GINR) began the 2026 autumn capelin survey on August 23. The survey is scheduled to continue until September 24.

GINR’s research vessel Tarajoq is taking part in the survey, while MFRI’s Árni Friðriksson will join from September 8. The two vessels are expected to cover a total distance of 6,084 nautical miles.

The main objective is to estimate the abundance of juvenile and mature capelin in the Iceland–East Greenland–Jan Mayen area. The survey will also collect information on plankton, pelagic fish and oceanographic conditions.

The results are expected around mid-October and will be used to revise the capelin catch advice for the 2026/27 fishing season.
