カナダ・ニューファンドランド西岸で2026年カペリン漁が開幕　まき網船団と定置網漁業が6月3日から操業開始
2026 Capelin Fishery Opens on Newfoundland’s West Coast – Purse Seine Fleet and Fixed Gear Fishery Begin Operations on June 3

カナダ漁業海洋省（DFO）は2026年6月2日、ニューファンドランド・ラブラドール州西岸における2026年カペリン漁の開始を発表した。

今回発表された内容は以下の2件である。

① 大型・中型まき網船団（Mobile Gear Fleet）の操業開始

DFOは、NAFO 4R海域のカペリン漁区13および14において、65フィート未満および65フィート以上のまき網漁船によるカペリン漁を、2026年6月3日午前6時より開始すると発表した。対象は主に西部ニューファンドランド沿岸海域で操業する大型および中型船団である。

② 定置網・トラップ漁業（Fixed Gear Fishery）の操業開始

DFOは同時に、カペリン漁区12、13および14の一部海域（Cape GregoryからPoint Richeまで）において、トラップ網、バー網、タック網などの固定漁具を使用する沿岸漁業についても、2026年6月3日午前6時より操業開始すると発表した。

Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) announced on June 2, 2026, the opening of the 2026 capelin fishery on the west coast of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The announcement consists of the following two notices:

1. Opening of the Mobile Gear Fleet Fishery

DFO announced that the capelin fishery in Capelin Fishing Areas 13 and 14 of NAFO Division 4R will open at 06:00 a.m. on June 3, 2026, for both vessels under 65 feet and vessels 65 feet and over using purse seines. These fleets primarily operate along the west coast of Newfoundland.

2. Opening of the Fixed Gear Fishery

At the same time, DFO announced the opening of the fixed gear capelin fishery in Areas 12, 13, and a portion of Area 14 (from Cape Gregory to Point Riche). Harvesters using fixed gear such as trap nets, bar seines, and tuck seines are authorized to begin fishing at 06:00 a.m. on June 3, 2026.
