2026 年もバレンツ海カペリン禁漁勧告：資源量は 1995 年以降で最低に
Barents Sea Capelin Fishery Recommended Closed Again in 2026 as Stock Hits Lowest Level Since 1995
ノルウェー海洋研究所（HI）は、バレンツ海のカペリン資源が歴史的低水準に落ち込んでいることから、2026 年もゼロ漁獲（禁漁） を勧告しました。
2025 年の生態系調査では、主要摂餌域でのカペリン量が非常に少なく、産卵親魚量は 1995 年以来で最も低い水準 と評価されています。
寿命が短く変動の大きいカペリンは資源量が回復するまで時間が必要で、未成魚の量が少ないことから 2027 年の漁業再開も難しい見通し です。最終的な漁獲枠は、ノルウェー・ロシア漁業委員会が今週決定します。

Norway’s Institute of Marine Research (HI) has recommended maintaining a zero catch (full fishery closure) for capelin in the Barents Sea in 2026, as the stock has fallen to historically low levels.
The 2025 ecosystem survey showed that capelin abundance in key feeding areas was extremely low, and the spawning stock biomass is assessed to be at its lowest level since 1995.
Because capelin have a short lifespan and highly variable stock dynamics, recovery will take time. With the current low amount of immature fish, a reopening of the fishery in 2027 also appears unlikely.
The final quota will be determined later this week by the Norwegian–Russian Fisheries Commission.
